eSIM Usage Guide
From install timing to troubleshooting — guides for every situation.
🕐 Can I install my eSIM in advance?
- Activation timing differs by plan. Check the activation policy on the product page and in your issuance email first.
- For plans that activate on a set date or on first local connection, we recommend installing before departure.
- Plans that activate immediately upon installation start counting the moment you install — install only after arriving at your destination.
🏠 Installing before departure
- Install via QR scan or the one-tap button while connected to Wi-Fi.
- Right after installing, keep Data Roaming OFF for the eSIMTOK line and keep your regular SIM as the default line.
- After arrival, select the eSIMTOK eSIM as your data line and turn on Data Roaming to start using it.
✈️ Plans that must be installed after arrival
- Plans that activate immediately start consuming the usage period as soon as they are installed, even at home.
- Install where internet is available, such as airport Wi-Fi.
- You can always view your QR code again in the issuance email or on the Order Lookup page.
📡 No data or slow connection?
- Check that Data Roaming is ON for the eSIM line and that it is selected as your default data line.
- Toggling Airplane Mode or restarting the device resolves most issues.
- If you moved to another country and cannot connect, try selecting the network (carrier) manually in Settings.
- If APN is not configured automatically, enter the APN value from the product info manually.
- Still not working? Contact us via 1:1 inquiry or chat.
🗑️ Removing the eSIM after your trip
- iPhone: Settings → Cellular → select the eSIM → Remove eSIM
- Galaxy: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → select the eSIM → Delete
- A deleted eSIM cannot be reinstalled, so remove it only after your trip is completely over.
🛂 Countries requiring traveler verification
- Some countries require traveler verification (e.g. passport) under local regulations before use.
- For plans that require it, instructions are provided on the product page and in the issuance email. Please follow the guided steps.
🔋 Running low on data during your trip?
- You can check your remaining data usage in real time on My Page.
- If you run out, purchase and install an additional eSIM for the same country to continue right away (on dual-eSIM devices).
- For top-up or extension of your current plan, please contact our support team.
📱 eSIM-Compatible Devices
Before purchasing an eSIM, make sure your device supports eSIM. On unsupported devices you will not be able to connect at your destination and may need to buy data again.
🍎 iPhone
- All models released after iPhone XS / XR (2018)
- iPhone SE 2nd generation (2020) and later
- Models sold in mainland China and some Hong Kong/Macau models do not support eSIM — please double-check devices purchased abroad.
🤖 Galaxy
- Galaxy S23 series and later (S23 · S24 · S25, etc.)
- Galaxy Z Fold4 · Z Flip4 and later foldables
- Some mid-range models such as A35 5G
- Korean-market Galaxy S22 and earlier (S20 · S21 · S22) do not support eSIM.
- International Galaxy models generally support eSIM from the S20 onward, with some US/China/Hong Kong exceptions.
📱 Google Pixel · Others
- Most models from Pixel 4 onward (some regional Pixel 3 / 3a variants are not supported)
- For other brands, use the check method below or consult the manufacturer's website.
How to check your device
- iPhone: Settings → Cellular → if you see "Add eSIM", your device is supported.
- Galaxy: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → if you see "Add eSIM", your device is supported.
- Dial *#06# in the phone app — if an EID number appears, your device supports eSIM.
- Carrier-locked devices cannot use travel eSIMs even if the model supports eSIM.
Please Note
- Only works on eSIM-capable, carrier-unlocked devices. (Most iPhone XS+ and Galaxy S20+ models supported)
- Install while connected to Wi-Fi. We recommend installing before departure and turning on roaming after arrival.
- QR codes are single-use. Once installed, they cannot be moved to another device.
- Check each plan's activation policy for activation timing and data reset rules.
